About Peter

For over 20 years, Canadian Choreographer, Peter Quanz, has inspired global audiences with ground-breaking performances that embrace human vulnerability, passion, and beauty.

Today, as Resident Choreographer of China’s Harbin Ballet and Artistic Director of Winnipeg-based Q DANCE, Peter continues to build exceptional collaborative relationships that deepen human experiences within dance, music, and visual arts.

Shapeshifting Movement Styles

Collaboration. Discovery. Growth.

These are the values of Q DANCE, a choreographic laboratory dedicated to the discovery of new ballets and visual art performances.

As the company’s Artistic Director, Peter nurtures and mentors an intimate team of creative thinkers to make a personal contribution to dance.

Harbin Ballet

China's youngest ballet company has been described as “a miracle in the history of Chinese ballet” by choreographic specialist, Xiao Suhua.

As Resident Choreographer, Peter partners with an ensemble of 35 dancers to elicit innovative narrative ballets and symphonic dances that are inspired by Chinese culture and Western thought.
