The seed for this work was planted through Peter Quanz’s participation in a Choreographic Research Workshop with Montréal Danse. During this residency, Peter was challenged to see dance in new ways, to gain new knowledge about how dance is made and set in motion. If apples are a metaphor for knowledge and temptation, what does it mean to question the foundation of one’s creative process, to dig for broader knowledge and to be tempted away from what is known and understood? Pomme is an exploration and an experiment in process. To encourage this, Johanna Riley from Winnipeg's Contemporary Dancers and Canada's Royal Winnipeg Ballet dancer Sophia Lee have been engaged to open creative possibilities and bridge connections.
